Calling Vudu's customer service was possibly one of the best experiences I've had with a telephone agent. Traditionally, I put off calling companies for help because I expect to navigate through dozens of directories and then have to wait another ten to thirty minutes to talk to a customer service agent.
That wasn't what happened when I called Vudu to talk to them about merging two accounts together. In fact, I was able to talk to a customer service agent within a minute of my initial phone call. It may have even been within 30 and 45 seconds of my call time which is astounding.
There are a lot of reasons people might end up calling Vudu, so I expected the directory tree to be large. People could be calling because they can't get the app to work on their Smart TVs or because the app won't work on their smartphones. They might call because they purchased a movie on Vudu and can't get it to stream or because their streaming subscription is not what they wanted and they want to cancel it. They may have just forgotten their password and need help getting into their account. Any of these issues would require specialized help.
However, Vudu seems to value customer service and doesn't make you work through dozens of directories to locate someone who can help you. Instead, they instantly connect you with a customer service agent who takes your information and asks you how they can help you. They must be either well-trained to help a variety of people, or I got lucky and was connected to the right agent who knew how to solve my problem. Either way, the experience was straightforward and remarkable.
Immediately upon calling the customer service number, I was greeted by a recorded message that thanked me for calling Vudu's customer care line and reminded me that the answers to common questions can be found on their website. It also informed me that I should never share full credit card information with a customer sales agent. Then, it said to please hold for a live agent, and to my surprise, an agent picked up within 25 seconds.
The agent was well spoken and friendly. They talked me through the process of merging two accounts so I could keep all of my digital files in one place. They were extremely knowledgeable and the entire process took less than ten minutes. It may have been faster but I'm not technologically savvy so it probably took a few extra minutes to do what she told me. Either way, I was impressed and wouldn't hesitate to call again if I needed more help.
