When calling Boost Mobile, it's important to know the exact reason why as the automated system gives limited options for reaching the right department. I called Boost to find out about deals on mobile phones as I don't currently have a plan with the company. Upon calling, you're directed to press 5 for Spanish or wait for further instructions.
The automated system said it didn't recognize the phone number I was calling, from so I was guided to either say the word "activate" to start new service or answer yes or no as to whether I have a Boost account. I said no and was told to wait for the next available agent. Callers will then hear a message directing them to the Boost website to read the company's privacy policy.
While waiting on hold, an automated recording directed me to use the Boost app or visit the website for immediate help or payments as accessing a live agent on the phone can take time.
Within a few minutes, a rep was on the line and quickly asked for my phone number as she attempted to pull up my account. After realizing I'm not a Boost customer, since that wasn't initially asked, she proceeded to find out how I could be helped. I explained that I was considering a Boost phone plan and wanted to get information on current offers and deals. With much enthusiasm, the rep told me I definitely had to join Boost, and I prepared myself to be pressured. However, she seemed more excited that I was considering a plan and didn't coerce me into a sale.
Instead, the rep directed me to Boost's website where I could read about an online exclusive providing customers with one month of unlimited data for half of the regular cost. In addition, she recommended an in-store deal for an iPhone11 for about $50 plus tax when I switch providers. These sounded like good deals but I wanted to see the phones in person. So the rep encouraged me to visit any to any Boost Mobile store and searched her database according to my zip code to locate nearby stores. While waiting, the agent engaged in some chitchat and asked about my holiday plans, which was a nice gesture.
She discovered three stores near my home and provided the phone numbers so I could call and get more information, adding that all locations close at 8 p.m. The call ended with her continued zeal for her company and appreciation for my call. It was great to reach an agent quickly and especially to speak with a rep eager to help.
