My name is Dorothy Evans and I've been a loyal customer for years. Yesterday, I was at Popeyes, Store ****, located at *** Chester Ave., in Bakersfield, California. My heels got stuck in the holes of the rubber mat in front of the drink machine. As I tried to loose my heels, I was thrown backwards and my head hit the door frame, causing wood pieces to fall. I laid there for a few seconds before two young customers came to assist me. No employees came to my aid, though I know they saw*heard the accident. The manager never came near me, and kept filling orders. Eventually, the cashier is the only one that showed concern and kept apologizing. She gave me my order, but I asked her to get the manager because I needed to fill out an accident report. She got him and he was rude to her, telling her he was behind three orders. She called him rude and he came out, looked at me like I was an alien, and asked what did I need. After telling him I wanted to fill out an accident report, he responded that they do not have forms for accident reports. In disbelief, I told him that we needed to write it down somewhere and both sign it. He went back into the kitchen and said he wasn't trained for this, and he'd have to call his manager. I told him to do that. He continued to state that he was behind on his food orders and told the cashier to call the manager. She called the manager (who never spoke to me), but the cashier told me that the manger told her to tell me to go to the doctor and send them a report. I went home and took Aleve and rested. My head was and still is fuzzy and I'm sore and bruised. I made an appointment to see my doctor. I saw my doctor this morning and have been diagnosed with having a concussion. I have no broken bones, but I'm sore and bruised. I'm awaiting MRI results. The manager's behavior and response to an accident in the store was unprofessional, unacceptable and he clearly lacks proper training to be managing anything. The mat with holes in it was a dangerous condition that caused my fall and should not be in your restaurant.
