I experienced two declined card transactions and contacted customer service. They said the card was frozen for a missing payment. I questioned why I was not informed of any issue before the freeze since I had no way to know about the payment delay. I was asked to make the minimum payment of $30 to unfreeze the card, despite mailing the payment on time as I have done for over 20 years. They acknowledged my good payment history but still insisted on the minimum payment to unfreeze the card. Even after explaining the situation multiple times to a customer service representative and two supervisors, the demand for payment remained the same. I am disappointed with how this company treats loyal customers and will be looking elsewhere for my business needs in the future.

For nearly two decades, I have faithfully paid my credit card balance in full each month. Recently, I encountered repeated rejections when using my card, notably at a Wallgreen's drug store on October 5, [redacted], while trying to purchase prescriptions. Despite contacting the card company, they often suspect fraud due to high-value transactions at unfamiliar establishments. Communication issues arose as the representative's English was difficult to understand. Resolving such matters was cumbersome, requiring a phone for text verification which I lack. This recurring inconvenience prompts doubts about the chip's reliability. Being 80 years old, a working credit card is crucial, especially while traveling. Consequently, I have resorted to utilizing alternative cards. Sudden suspensions of the GM card pose significant challenges, making it hard to rely on its functionality.

Since the GM Card transitioned to Marcus, attempting to set up my prior account led to encountering a webpage displaying Technical Difficulties. Contacting customer service resulted in extensive wait times ranging from 30 minutes to 4 hours. Persisting on hold for 30 minutes often resulted in no response for over an hour. This issue has persisted for five consecutive days, including late-night attempts at setup. The frustration has mounted, prompting considerations of discontinuing the GM Card. Previous changes in service companies did not yield such exasperation as with Marcus. Numerous others are also facing these challenges, leading to widespread discontent among users.
