I will be starting at Keystone College in 2 weeks. I submitted an application for a private student loan through Citizens Bank. Unfortunately, my loan application was rejected by Equifax because they mistakenly believed that I, John Collin Cowles, was my father applying for the loan. I promptly faxed over my proof of identification on 7/17, but I recently received a letter indicating that the documents were not received. To clarify, I am the student applying for the loan, while my father, John Christopher Cowles, is not. The documents I previously faxed include my driver's license, social security card, pay stub, W-2, and a current bank statement showing my address. I kindly request that my master file be cleared to resolve this issue promptly so that my student loan application can progress. Thank you for your attention to this matter. John Collin Cowles

I attempted to rent a car through Avis Rental Company in Ventura, CA in May, but my credit was declined due to information from your company. Despite contacting you multiple times, I have not received a clear answer. I rented a car without issues in December [redacted], and can't understand what changed. I have only basic monthly expenses and don't actively use credit. I have received two letters from your company offering possible reasons for the denial, but none seem to apply to my situation. I need to know the specific reason for this denial in May [redacted]. There must be a record of this in the communication sent to Avis Car Rental. Could someone please help me investigate this matter further?

A couple of years ago, I successfully froze my credit with all three credit agencies. Today, my daughter and I attempted to freeze her credit, but it seems that it wasn't completed with Transunion and Experian. We need to check if her credit is frozen with Equifax. We need to retrieve her Pin number urgently as she is applying for a house lease and time is of the essence. Her name is Jennifer R Pyle, born on 02/21/[redacted]. Please let me know so I can provide her SSN. Thank you for your help.

I placed a freeze on my credit bureaus and now my bank, First PREMIER Bank, is unable to pull my credit report for a home refinance. I need to temporarily lift the freeze for this one inquiry. Can Equifax assist with contacting the other bureaus? I am currently on hold with Equifax for over 45 minutes. Please help expedite this process. My details are: Marta Miles Huls, social security number [redacted], residing at [redacted] S Tessa Avenue, Hartford, SD [redacted]. You can reach me at [redacted].

I currently have a freeze on my Equifax credit report, but I am unsure how it was placed there and am unable to reach a person for assistance. While TransUnion does not have a freeze on my report, my attempts to contact Equifax have been unsuccessful through phone and online channels. I have even sent a letter to Equifax without any response. Despite my extensive efforts, I have not been able to have the freeze removed to access my excellent credit. I am seeking assistance from someone with higher authority who can provide the necessary help in resolving this matter.

I have disputed an incorrect amount twice with Equifax, but they continue to report it as an unpaid balance from Diversified Consultants. Despite Diversified Consultants confirming that the collection has been deleted and Direct TV stating it was "PAID IN FULL," Equifax insists on labeling my account as unpaid as of July [redacted]. This misinformation is frustrating, especially since I've reached out to the involved parties and confirmed that the account is settled. Diversified Consultants misplaced my payment and forwarded my account to Credence, which I have also contacted to confirm my account's paid status. It's frustrating that Equifax is still reporting my account as unpaid, even after I've made efforts to rectify this error.

I recently needed to freeze my social security number and credit card information with Equifax to safeguard against identity theft. However, I discovered there was a potentially long wait time of up to 40 minutes to reach an Equifax agent. Fortunately, I reached out to Get Human for assistance. They agreed to call Equifax on my behalf and arranged for Equifax to contact me once they connected with them. This service was a relief as it allowed me to attend to other tasks instead of being tied up on the phone for nearly an hour. Thank you, Get Human!

I discovered The Uptain Group, LLC. listed on my credit report for a medical group called West Florida Cardiology that doesn't exist. I've never had heart or blood pressure issues and have no records with West Florida Heart Group. The date they claim I visited West Florida Hospital Group is false; I go to Baptist Hospital. The $62 charge is wrong. Could this be linked to the [redacted] system hack? I also noticed unauthorized hard inquiries on my account for credit offers that I did not initiate. I'm currently in the process of purchasing a home and securing a mortgage, so this mix-up could have serious consequences. Your prompt attention to rectify this issue is greatly appreciated. - Leslie Wayne Otto, born on December 30, [redacted], last 4 of social #[redacted].

I have old phone numbers and addresses linked to my social security number [redacted]. My name is Johnathan J. Lucero, born on 02/07/[redacted]. There are additional names on file causing difficulties for me, making it hard to adjust to society. I feel monitored by unknown individuals, possibly related to a previous court case involving accusations of operating an illegal casino. An individual, possibly named Jonathan D. Lucero, who passed away in [redacted], might be using my identity and receiving checks in my name. This situation is possibly connected to Bancorp Bank. I cashed a check from a telecommunications company in Florida for $[redacted] at PLS Cashier Services, but the check did not clear, causing issues. I am seeking assistance to remove old addresses, phone numbers, and names from my records. I have only used my name as per my birth certificate and expired Texas ID, number [redacted]5.

I am extremely frustrated with the poor customer service I have received from your company, especially considering the data breach you all have had. When I tried to place a credit freeze online, the link kept giving me an error message. Then, when I called customer service, I had to answer so many personal questions just to have the representative ask for the exact date when I last filed for a free credit report - who memorizes that? It was disheartening that after providing so much personal information, I was still denied help due to not knowing a specific date. The supervisor's response was just as unhelpful, suggesting I mail in a cover letter with multiple forms of personal identification. This was a concerning request given the breach that had already occurred. After repeated attempts, the website finally directed me to the freeze request page. But, even after answering all the questions, I was informed that my request could not be processed. This entire ordeal to secure my credit freeze, following your company's failure to protect my data, has been unnecessarily complicated and disappointing. Comparatively, the service I received from other credit agencies was prompt, efficient, and sensitive to the urgency of my situation without subjecting me to such an arduous process. Equifax's customer service has truly let me down.

I recently received a decline for a Citi Simplicity Mastercard, citing inaccurate reasons such as a bankruptcy filing on my current Citi card and a history of late payments, which are both false. My credit scores are [redacted] (Experian), [redacted] (Equifax), and [redacted] (TransUnion). I consistently pay off my card balances every month unless there's a 0% interest offer. I'm perplexed as to why Equifax provided Citibank with this erroneous information as it doesn't reflect on any of the credit reports I regularly monitor. I would appreciate a call to resolve this issue promptly to prevent any adverse effects on my credit report and score. Additionally, I intend to inform Citibank of this misinformation regarding my recent card application.

I recently received a call from someone pretending to be from a federal agency who ended up defrauding me of a significant sum of money. During the call, I unknowingly shared my SS number. Following the incident, I contacted Equifax to report the fraud. Equifax advised me to fax over documents such as my SS card, driver's license, and a cover letter explaining the situation. Despite repeated attempts, my faxes did not go through successfully. I am now contemplating sending the necessary documents via email in the hopes that Equifax will be able to start monitoring my SS number promptly.

I have received documents from BB&T regarding an Equifax "system error" affecting my credit score. Despite assurances from Equifax to BB&T that the issue was resolved, my credit score has not been corrected. BB&T has initiated a dispute on my behalf, but after nearly 60 days, there have been no updates. Equifax mistakenly marked an account as closed when it is actually open, impacting my financial status and loan prospects. This situation, caused by Equifax's error, needs to be addressed urgently. - Jeffrey P.

I am frustrated as I had to file a second dispute since the first one was not properly reviewed. This has led to a change in the reporting date for the disputed item, resulting in a significant drop in my credit score by almost 50 points. I believe that I shouldn't face penalties for raising a dispute, and the reporting date should not have been altered. The primary reason for my dispute was the duplication of the item, which has yet to be rectified. I am disappointed with this process and hence have resorted to initiating a second dispute to address this issue.

I have been attempting to reach a representative at Equifax via telephone multiple times, but each attempt has resulted in disconnection or no callback as promised. The lack of customer service is frustrating, leaving me in need of assistance to place a temporary lift on my credit freeze for a loan application. It seems impossible to have a conversation with a live person to address urgent matters, causing significant inconvenience and distress. I am looking for alternative options to resolve this issue promptly. The current experience with Equifax is disappointing as it hinders individuals from resolving important matters efficiently.

There was a mistake made by our joint savings and credit card institution when my husband passed away. Instead of only reporting him as deceased, they marked the whole account, including me and my son (both fine and healthy), as deceased. This error was also reported to some credit bureaus, causing them to list me and my son as deceased on some trade lines. I want to rectify this mistake and have the red mark removed as we are both alive and well. My son has already taken care of his report, so I only need help fixing the error on my report, as the others have been updated correctly. Thank you.

In [redacted], I experienced issues with my Telus cell phone services. I spoke with a representative as my bill had exceeded $[redacted] due to long-distance charges on calls. After addressing the problem, I paid $[redacted], leaving a remaining balance of $3.59, which I cleared on July 25, [redacted]. Even though the payment was made, it affected my ability to secure a personal loan. Telus confirmed I have no outstanding balance, and they suggested contacting Equifax to address the credit report discrepancy. I am seeking assistance in rectifying this issue promptly. Thank you for your help. C.A. Lavallee, born March 06, [redacted].

My information was actually stolen from Equifax some time ago, and I've been facing issues ever since. Various companies have started buying private and public details to create security questions for customers, such as "Who is Robin Reeves?", "How long were you married to John Doe?", and "What was your high school mascot?" If I can't answer these questions, I'm denied account access. After much effort and letter-writing, I've been advised to reach out to the three major credit agencies because they collect private and public data. Therefore, I am currently requesting all the private and public records held on me to correct errors and prevent companies from asking irrelevant questions. Thank you, C A Remington

I have been struggling with Equifax since the [redacted] data breach, where my account was compromised, and I suspect it has been given to thieves. Despite sending multiple identification documents since May and June [redacted], I am still fighting to prove my identity. My health is in a chronic stage, and the stress exacerbates my condition. When attempting to open a fraud account, I was locked out even though I do not own a car and some credit items on my report are unfamiliar to me. Equifax's negligence has severely impacted my credit score. I am now seeking assistance from the Attorney General to address this issue and seek resolution. It's distressing that my account was unlocked without my knowledge, and I need proper security measures in place to prevent further unauthorized access. I desperately need help to resolve these ongoing security concerns.

Hello, I'm Kristine McKee. I want to address an issue regarding a recent visit to Bank of America. During the opening of my new savings account and deposit, they requested my Social Security card. They mentioned it was necessary as Social Security numbers were running out and it was a common practice. However, they reported no activity. This has left me perplexed and seeking clarification. I would appreciate someone reaching out to me promptly. Thank you, Kristine McKee.
