How Do I Complain to Target About a Late Delivery?

If you ordered something from Target and the estimated delivery date has come and gone without you getting it, you may be concerned. While delays are sometimes unavoidable, you may wish to complain to Target about an overly late delivery. This article will teach you how.

Target Complaints

Target does not have a dedicated complaint line or online complaint form. Instead, you must make your complaint in a different way. You have a couple of options.

If You Ordered From a Particular Store

If you ordered something from a particular store, you should start with the manager of that store. You can call and ask to speak to the manager, of course, but if you go to the store in person, you'll have the personal touch. However, if you want to go into the store, you should call first to check if the manager is there. The manager should be able to tell you if the problem was something to do with the shipping. If the manager isn't in when you call, ask for the manager's office number.

If You Ordered From Target Online

If you ordered from the Target online store or if the manager you spoke to was no help, you need to contact Target's customer service department and speak to a representative there. You can reach one by phone, chat, help forum, or email.

Contact the Shipper

Of course, the problem might not be with Target at all, but with the shipper. If nobody at Target knows why your delivery is late, the next step should be to contact the shipper that Target used. This information should be in the confirmation email you received after placing your order. If you cannot find this information, contact Target's customer service and ask.

Porch Pirates

If the shipper also says that nothing went wrong and your package was delivered on time, it looks like porch pirates probably stole your order. Unless you have a doorbell camera, there's nothing more you can do to find your package. If you do have a doorbell with a camera, you may want to get the police involved at this stage.

Remember

When you speak to a Target employee or an employee of the shipper, you'll get much better results if you follow these guidelines:

  • Don't get upset. Simply state the facts.
  • Be polite.
  • Make it clear that you are not angry with the employee.
  • Clearly state what you want the company to do to fix this problem.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Target Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
