How Do I Sell Coins on Bitcoin.com?

There are two ways to sell cryptocurrency assets: Through the Bitcoin.com wallet app and on a centralized exchange (Sell.bitcoin.com). When selling coins on the website, you'll need to first verify your identity by submitting proof of identification or an address. This is to prevent tax evasion.

Selling Coins on a Centralized Exchange

Go to Sell.bitcoin.com to start selling your cryptocurrency assets. Follow the detailed steps below:

  1. Select the cryptocurrency you'd like to sell and enter the amount.
  2. Hit Sell Now to get to the next page.
  3. Enter a valid Wallet Address. The platform will need this in case the transaction doesn't go through. They will send the refund to this address.
  4. If you're selling BCH, make sure to also enter a BCH wallet.
  5. Hit Sell Now.
  6. Create a MoonPay account or log in by entering the email address associated with your MoonPay account.
  7. If you don't have an account with MoonPay yet, you'll need to complete the verification process first to proceed.
  8. Select a Withdrawal Method and type in your bank details.
  9. Hit Sell Now to proceed to the next step.
  10. On the next page, hit "See Deposit Instructions. You'll get the wallet address and the QR code to send the coins you're selling.
  11. Send the amount.

Don't forget to scan the QR code and send the coins first. Otherwise, the process won't continue. Once MoonPay gets the coins, you'll receive the bank transfer ASAP.

Selling Coins Using the App

You can use the Bitcoin.com wallet app for selling your cryptocurrency asset. If you're in Europe or UK or certain US states, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the app and tap sell. Select the cryptocurrency you'd like to sell.
  2. Type in the amount and hit Continue.

  4. Enter the IBAN and tap Continue.
  5. Agree on the Terms of Use and tap Sell Now.
  6. Select View Deposit Details to see the wallet address and QR code.
  7. Send the specified amount and wait for the bank transfer.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Bitcoin.com Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
