There was no menu to select from when I called the number, other than a choice between English and Spanish. After selecting English, I was quickly connected with a customer service rep, who asked how he could assist me. I told him that I needed help connecting my Fire TV stick to a TCL Roku TV. He asked for my first and last name, then asked me to check the back of the TV for a serial number.
I couldn't get to the back of the television, so he walked me through the menu on the TV to get to the "About" choice so he could get the information that way. He then asked for the best phone number to use for a call-back and for an email address in case we got disconnected.
After I gave him this information, he began the process of helping me set up the Fire TV stick. Before he began, he warned me that he could not promise it would work properly, as it was an external product. He asked me to connect the Fire TV stick to the HDMI 1 port and see if anything came up. I told him that the HDMI 1 port now said "Fire TV," and he asked me to select it and make sure it was working.
I did so and told him it seemed to be working. He said that was all there was to it and asked if I had any other questions. I said no, but he had one more question. He asked if I wanted to have the TCL TV automatically connect to the Fire TV stick when I turned it on. I said I didn't see the need for that, as it was working fine and I didn't mind hitting one button to get to the Fire TV. He said he understood and wished me a pleasant day.
Overall, I thought this was a strong customer service experience. The rep was incredibly thorough, taking the time to make sure he could reach me if we happened to get disconnected. He went above and beyond to get as many details as possible to ensure he could provide first-rate assistance, and he was pleasant to deal with. I didn't have any concerns about getting my problem solved, and I thought he handled every step with a professional demeanor. I feel very comfortable using this number from TCL for any television issues.
